FAQs about Ohana

GENERAL QUESTIONS:

Where are we staying?  We will be staying at the double tree hotel in Overland Park, KS.  Roommate requests can be made when you register.  Click here to register

Who’s invited?   Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Illnois Asian American College students which could include not be limited to Korean, Native-Hawaiian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Indian, Karen, etc. You are welcome!  If you don’t fall nYou are welcome if you consider yourself a Christian or if you do not consider yourself a Christian.  You are welcome if you are a part of InterVarsity or not a part of an InterVarsity Chapter.  We are excited to see you all there!

What should I expect?   We will have main sessions which will include a main speaker and  small groups so you can get to know people from different campuses.  We will have FOOD!  We hope to have a wide representation of snacks so that we can learn about each others heritage some more. We will have seminars, breakouts and free time during Saturday.  Lastly, we will have two other InterVarsity conferences in the same building, Imani and Mi Gente.  We will be together during meal time as well as on Sunday morning.

What should I bring?

  • Warm, but comfortable clothing
  • toiletries
  • Pen
  • Bible (if you have one)
  • Electronic devices / notebooks to write down important information you wish to take back to your campus.
  • Snack for the ride and games to play.

REGISTRATION & COST QUESTIONS: 

How much does it cost?  Base cost $125.  $25 deposit.

What if I can’t afford the registration cost? Talk with your local InterVarsity staff to get scholarship information.  You can also email us directly at ohanaconference2017@gmail.com and we will help you in the process.  Don’t let money be the reason you don’t come!

When’s the last time to register?
Early registration deadline: 1/29/16, $125
Cost after 1/29/16: $175

What meals will be provided?  There will be a continental breakfast Saturday & Sunday morning and Saturday evening meal will be provided as well.  You are responsible for your meals when traveling on Friday and Sunday.  Saturday lunch will also be on your own.  In addition to restaurants in walking distance, there will be a hotel lunch offered at a reasonable college student price.

TRAVEL QUESTIONS:

How do I get there?  At this time we do not have any pre-set travel arrangements.  Talk with your local InterVarsity staff to arrange transportation.
